Hi, I’m Jessica. Thanks for visiting my site!
Born and raised in Colorado, I spent many childhood summers exploring the Rocky Mountains, playing in the mud, climbing on rocks, and occasionally falling on cacti. Eventually I headed west to Southern California, where I saw my first ten-lane freeway, learned how to weld, and earned a BA in fine arts (sculpture) at Scripps College. Upon graduation, I headed even further west, to Asia, where I traveled around for a year, sketching and chasing folk tales. (Made possible thanks to the generous support of a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship.) Continuing the “round-the-world” western trend, I ended up in Berlin, Germany for the last few years, and have just come full circle back to Colorado.
