Day 22
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

I’m really not going to manage this whole drawing-a-day thing. I blame international travel, and holidays. This one I’m not so sure about. These little square paintings have been ideas for calendar months based on the months as described by the Oglala Sioux Holy Man, Black Elk, as I mentioned in a previous post. This would be May, “Moon when the Ponies Shed.” Not wanting to subject you to an intimate drawing of ragged pony hair falling out in patches, I thought maybe ponies from further away would be better. I’m not sure I like how it turned out though. I think I’ll try it again with a fresh idea.

These I bought in Japan in 2006. I found them again in a pile of stuff. Since I will probably never send them to anyone because I like them too much, I’ve decided I might as well scan them and share ‘em here.
